BOW TIES

Bow ties are traced back to Croatian mercenaries in the late 1600’s who tied scarves around their shirt openings to hold them closed. They reached the height of popularity in the late 1800’s and continued to be a favorite until the 1960’s when they became mostly reserved for formal attire. In the last several years we have seen a reemergence of bow ties, particularly among young men, and they are no longer just for formal occasions. Forget the clip-on; every gentleman must learn to tie one on. For a terrific bow tie instructional video, click here.
